“The Rosary is a school of Prayer, the rosary is a school of Faith!” -Pope Francis
The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, formerly known as Our Lady of Victory and Feast of the Holy Rosary was initiated by Pope Pius X, after the Christians gained their victory over the Ottoman Navy at the Battle of Lepanto. The Rosary served as their mighty sword against the enemies.
In line with this celebration is the Living Rosary that was conducted at DSPNSDA Patio last October 6(Saturday) at 7:00 in the evening. It is brought by the Parish Pastoral Council and Worship Ministry, in which joined by other Parish groups yearly.
The event started through an opening prayer lead by Bro. Edwin Natividad of Worship Ministry. The five mysteries of the Rosary were divided into five groups from the different organizations of the Church, and each are represented by different colors as well.
For the Apostles Creed and the Our Father, the President and Internal Vice President of EXECOM lead the introduction wearing white shirt. The 3 Hail Marys were recited by EMHC, MOL and MOAS, wearing light blue shirts. The Glory Be was recited by the Music Ministry, wearing white shirt same with the EXECOM officers.
The first mystery was lead by the following groups; MBG, Apostolado ng Panalangin, Tarcisian Adorers, RIPVA, Divine Mercy Apostolate, Lay Ministers of the Word and Biblical Apostolate. They wore a blue shirt.
For the second mystery who wore yellow shirt, Catechetical Ministry, El Shaddai, Flames of Fire for Jesus, Focolare Movement, Gawarasal, Legion of Mary, NSDAPS, MSK Holy Family- Netra, MSK Divine Mercy, MSK Padre Pio- Villa San Mateo 6 SPC groups recited the prayers.
Tanghalang Aranzazu, Pag-ibig ng Panginoon Community, Parish Renewal Experience (PREX), Live Christ Share Christ, Hapag ng Salita, Catholic Women’s League, Knights of Columbus, Ladies of Charity, Prisoners’ Welfare, and Restorative Justice groups lead the third mystery, again wearing blue.
4th mystery was lead by the Servants of Jesus and Mary, Disaster Response Team, Migrants Ministry, Obreros, CFC Global, CFC FFL, Familia Community, San Mateo ME, Association of OLAR, Knights of OLAR, NSDA Marshall, and MSK San Andres. They all wore yellow shirts.
The 5th and final mystery was lead by groups who wore a red shirt, under MSK; Our Lady of Manaoag, Fatima, San Mateo, Sr. Sto. Cristo de Burgos (GB 2), Child Jesus (Riza), San Jose (La Mar), Immaculate Heart of Mary (Bankers), Our Lady of Lourdes (GB 1), Mother of Perpetual Help (Liamzon), Sta. Clara (Easterview), Sta. Ana and San Miguel (Villa 1).
The Feast of the Holy Rosary is celebrated every 7th of October. This is to spread its significance to everyone, which is to keep in touch to the Lord and to Mary not just when we need them, but whenever we’re in good terms with life as well. (Maria Angela Patrice M. Mabutol)

Maria Angela Patrice M. Mabutol is a senior high school student at Eastern Star Academy and is currently taking HUMSS Strand under Academic Track. She was a former member and writer of Aranzes Journal at NSDAPS. Aside from being passionate in writing, she is also into photography and music. Angela is a firm believer that life is just a matter of perspective that if you change your view, the rest will follow.
