Drawing visitors from throughout San Mateo in Rizal, the parish doubles in size for the celebration, which is one of the the biggest event of the year.
SAN MATEO, Rizal (Updated) – The month of January has been a great start of year 2020 for the parishioners of Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora De Aranzazu (DSPNSDA) as they continue to be more productive and active on our propagating the devotion thru various activities like this upcoming Sto. Nino Festival. The annual celebration of the Feast of Sto. Niño is now on its 44th year and will be celebrated this coming January 19, 2020.
This year’s Hermano Mayor is Captain Butchoy Cruz and Hermano Menor is Ms. Mayin Trinidad.
Kicking off activities is the Novena Masses on January 10. The celebration will culminate with the Parade Festival of Sto Niños on January 19.
The centuries-old image of the Child Jesus was given to Queen Juana when Ferdinand Magellan arrived in Cebu in 1521. The image is believed to be miraculous since it was found unscathed in a scorched hut 44 years after its arrival in the Philippines.

January 10 to January 18
- 5:30 pm – 6 pm: Rosary and Novena
- 6 pm: Holy Mass
January 18 – Visperas Day (Saturday)
‘Pasayo’ with Hermano Mayor (within the route of the festival parade)
January 19 – Fiesta Señor Day (Sunday)
- 7 am: Procession from Hermano Mayo’s place going to DSPNSDA
- 7:30 am: Thanksgiving Mass
- 12:00 nn: Assembly of Sto. Nino images in Carozas to participate in the Festival Parade
- 1: 00 pm: Start of the Sto. Niño parade.
Route: Church Patio, Hilario Street then to P. Gomez street, B. Mariano St., Resureccion St., Gen. Luna St., MH del Pilar St., Kambal Rd., Daangbakal Rd., Patiis Rd., Gen. Luna St. going back to DSPNSDA
January 26 – Turn-over Ceremonies (Sunday)
- 9 am: Thanksgiving Masses to Hermano Mayor and Menor for 2021
