SUMMARY:CLOSING PILGRIMAGE SEASON 2017
DESCRIPTION:The Immaculate Conception Parish or the Antipolo Cathedral is closing its Pilgrimage Season 2017 on Tuesday\, July 4.  \nOn May 2\, 2017\, the “Pilgrimage Season” was opened with a holy mass held at the Pinagmisahan Hill. In his homily\, Antipolo Bishop Francis De Leon says\, “Kaya po tayo narito sapagkat inaalala natin ang tanda na ibinigay noong matagal nang panahon (We are gathered here today to remember the sign that was given to us years ago).” \nBishop Francis pertains to a centuries-old story about a plague that killed hundreds of men and women in the towns of Antipolo\, Taytay\, and Cainta. During that time\, the parish priest of Antipolo wanted to lead a holy mass on top of the hill where the three towns can be viewed. He hoped that this Eucharistic Celebration could finally end the plague\, to which it did happen. Thus\, it is now called the “Pinagmisahan Hill.” \nIn addition\, Bishop Francis said that this yearly tradition is a sign of gratitude to God with the intercession of Mary\, Patroness of Antipolo\, for the gift of healing as a sign of His love to his children. \nFrom the opening\, a lot of activities were held\, such as Novena Masses\, pilgrimage to a number of churches\, visitation of the Image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage to different places\, and historical processions. \n  \nCLOSING CELEBRATION \nAs part of the closing of the “Pilgrimage Season 2017\,” a re-enactment of the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage will be held on July 4\, 2017. Although\, It has been cleared that the original date of her Canonical Coronation was on November 28\, 1926. \nMoreover\, both canonically crowned images of the Nuestra Señora De Aranzazu (Our Lady of Aranzazu) from San Mateo\, Rizal and the Nuestra Señora de Los Desamparados (Our Lady of the Abandoned) from Marikina City\, are also coming over for the celebration. \nMost. Rev.
