SAN MATEO – In their continued efforts to showcase the blessing of Social Communications, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu through its Media and Public Information Ministry has launched their official parish website (www.aranzazushrine.ph) in a mass held by their Parish Priest and Shrine Rector, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Paz last September 6, 2015. Among those who witnessed the event is Bro. James Wong, coordinator of the Social Communications Ministry of the diocese.
Bro. Arnel Yango, head of their parish media and public information ministry, stressed the necessity of having such saying that majority of their parishioners are now engaged with the ‘new media’. He added that offering a website would improve interaction among their parishioners and even devotees outside their parish.
Prior to coming up with a website, the parish’s MPIM, has strengthened its social media outlets – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Currently, their Facebook page has breached the 11,000 mark of page likes offering those who subscribed a regular dose of information coming from the parish such as announcements and even live news updates.
Fr. Larry in one conversation with him told that, “It is important that the Church – the local church in particular, has to know the language of its parishioners in order to convey the word of God in a way that it will be understood and be retained in their minds and hearts.”
Fr. Larry Paz is also the current Director of the Social Communications Ministry of the Diocese of Antipolo.
