Days before the coronation the committee released the official logo for the much awaited event. According to Fr. Larry Paz, the design were from Dave Axalan and Sis. Racquel Ortega while the meaning was created by from Fr. Larry himself. Here’s the logo with its symbolic meaning.
“A Canonical Coronation Is an institutional act of the Pope, expressed through a Papal Bull, recognizing the manifestation of the fervent devotion of the faithful to the Blessed Virgin Mary”.
The Canonical coronation logo bears the word Coronatio Canonica, meaning Canonical coronation designed in a circular manner to depict the continuous flow of graces from God brought forth by the devotion of the people through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary Aranzazu, (Beata Maria Virgo De Aranazazu), the mother of Jesus.
The Papal symbol, the coat of the arms of the Pope on the top expresses the Pontiff’s significance and authority as head of the Church. The symbolism of the coat is drawn from the Gospel and is represented by the keys given to the Apostle Peter by Christ himself.
The hands placing the crown on the image of the blessed virgin bespeaks of the Pope’s full blessing and recognition of the growing devotion of the faithful to their mother, queen, and patroness. The crown further symbolizes the very essence of their devotion to the Lady of Aranzazu manifests to the faithful who fervently asks for her intercession.
The image of Our Lady of Aranzazu at the center of the logo shows her as the strong and historically old, acclaimed patron of the town of San Mateo. She serves as a beacon of faith and hope among the faithful in times of great needs and has withstood calamities and tests of time for over three hundred years.
With this released, it just goes to show that we are really near on our special for Our Lady of Aranzazu.
