The exhibit of Our Lady of Aranzazu at SM City San Mateo in line with its coronation on May 31, 2017

The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu launched a new and first mall exhibit titled Aranzazu 300 and Canonical Coronation Our Lady of Aranzazu last May 21, 2017.

The exhibit available on the ground floor in SM City San Mateo is the installment to finally present to the viewing public the most anticipated events this year in town: Aranzazu at 300 and Canonical Coronation to enrich viewer’s consciousness regarding patroness of San Mateo Rizal, 300 years celebration, Canonical Coronation, Episcopal Coronation, Coronation of other Marians, and scale model of the parish by Bien Blanco.

Every minutia features in the exhibit depicts efforts to deepen viewer’s connection between the church and the community by the record of history and faith of the community that can influence the lives of people today.

In the first section calls attention to the Patroness of San Mateo, Rizal and 300 Years Celebration provided by the devotion to Our Lady of Aranzazu and the establishment of the church in 1596.

Moving in the next section shows the following Canonically Crowned Marian Images in the Philippines along with dates, image, and arch or diocese. The first crowned Marian was Nuestra Senora de La Naval de Manila in 1907

Last stop section reveals the crowning of Our Lady of Aranzazu was granted in response to the petition made by Parish Pastoral Council and Rev. Lawrence Paz with documents prepared by Cofradia de Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu and the Episcopal Coronation held November 9, 2013 as recognition by the local Bishops given to the manifestation of a fervent devotion of the faithful to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Taken collectively, the exhibit conveys a great desire of making a spiritual impact on families and individuals who read it. Moreover, the exhibit expects to broaden the circle of enthusiasm of people from various cities and help bring these records forward in our day so that through the viewer’s own understanding and belief, we can come closer to Our Lady of Aranzazu.

Shopping malls exhibit activities commonly view as fad that varies every season which often very popular and widely shared .While it can considerably catch ones attention at ease due to join course of events, what makes a church exhibit related on the contrary; create an appealing invite more than just a room for decoration and entertainment.

The exhibit will be available until May 22-28.  We hope that through this event many of our people will get to know the history of our dear Patron and will be reminded of the much anticipated event this May 31, 2017. (Michaela Acilo)
