Rev. Fr. Lawrence Paz, parish priest of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu, reminds the people in his homily yesterday (June 4, 2017) that if you are a true pilgrim, you should not complain. “Magtiis ka,” he added.
He cited one story in the bible that when the people pilgrimaged to Jerusalem, they sacrificed, they ate what was there and stayed where they could stayed. They did it for two weeks without complaining. He even asked the people to search the meaning of a pilgrim. This reminder came after the complaints he received about the celebration of the Canonical Coronation. He reminded that the efforts you gave in the celebration are our sacfrice.
On the other hand, Fr. Lawrence Paz said that we can expect more pilgrims to visit the parish especially now that Our Lady of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu is one of the Canonically crowned Marian images in the Philippines and now that her feast day is approaching.
Our Lady of Aranzazu, the patroness of San Mateo was Canonically crowned last Wednesday, May 31. (Camille Cabal)
