Lights were turned off, altar was filled with white and red roses, and a moment of silence this is how the vigil started.
In line with the celebration of Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, an earnest vigil was happened last June 17 at DSPNSDA. This Corpus Christi Vigil (Latin for “Body of Christ”) celebrates the reality of the body and blood of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist known as transubstantiation.
The vigil candle offerors are a representative from difference MSKs, organizations and groups wherein 20 candles were offered every decade.
“For the sake of His sorrowful passion, Have mercy on us and on the whole world.” A phrase that was sang repeatedly which is intended for us to pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness. For every decade, an audio visual presentation was shown: The Miracle of Lanciano, The Eucharistic Miracle of Buenos Aires, The Passion of Christ and The Hosts of the Siena, Italy. These AVPs helped us to meditate and reflect as we ask His pardon.
At the end of the Vigil, a prayer was apprised led by Fr. Lawrence C. Paz.
Today, we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi where we commemorate the Body of Christ that was sacrificed in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. (Lester de Castro & Mariele Aquino)
