Challenges come along the way: He who does not quit survives; he who believes is showered with grace.
The devotees of Our Lady of Aranzazu once again proved that their faith is unstoppable. The rain did not stop them in celebrating the annual pilgrimage to Antipolo Cathedral. Last June 10, the pilgrims united for the 548th commemoration of the apparition of Our Lady of Aranzazu in the mountain of Alona in Spain in 1469.
As early as 6am, the delegates of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu (DSPNSDA) gathered at the parish patio to participate in the said annual event. Everyone from their respective ministries was wearing their shirts, showing their devotion to the Blessed Virgin.
Due to the rainy weather, instead of a procession on foot from Kapitolyo going to the cathedral, a motorcade was held instead. The devotees happily welcomed Aranzazu upon arriving at the cathedral. All cameras were out to take pictures of the Blessed Virgin as that was her first visit to Antipolo cathedral as the koronada.
Everyone was waving their handkerchiefs, rejoicing in the presence of Our Lady of Aranzazu. Joy filled the cathedral as seen in the eyes of all people who were there. Blessed are those people, the old and young, who did not mind the heavy rain just to get there. As Rev. Fr. Larry said in his homily; God is always with us and if we are with Mary, Christ is also with us. Camille Cabal
