“Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 4:10)
Problems are one of the things in life that we can never avoid. Some of us may take it as a bad notion; thinking that it’s an indication of suffering yet some will take it as a challenge that will help them to improve.
When I was in my first year High School, I remember that I’m always afraid to solve equations. Every time we have a class I always shaking in fear, fear that I might get called by my teacher to solve the mathematical problem in front of the class. I used to cross my fingers believing that by doing it I will be saved from my nightmare. But crossing fingers is not that effective than I thought.
It was Monday morning, I came late in our class and my Math Teacher noticed me coming in. She let me to come in the classroom in a condition that I will solve the equation that was written on the board. I never see this coming. I wasn’t prepared that time. I almost stumble down because of nervousness. As I walked towards the board, I prayed to God and asked for his help to solve the problem that I’m facing in.
After a minute, I try to solve the equation even though my hands didn’t stop from shaking. While I was solving, I didn’t notice that my teacher is helping me to get the problem answered. I was so happy back then as I conquered my fear with the help given not just by my teacher, but by God.
Life is full of trials. But the great Lord will never let us to face it alone. Always remember that help and comfort will always be given to those who seek it. Just like our Lord Jesus Christ when he awoke from his nightmare. Running because he was afraid, our dear mother Mary seeks to comfort him and help him to stay at ease.
Reflection: “Be not afraid as the Great Lord will always be there by your side and provide help that you need.”
Today is the feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The feast is celebrated from the different parts of the globe. Let us honour the Blessed Virgin Mary as she shows her never ending love to her son, our Lord Jesus Christ the time he awoke from his nightmare. Our Lady of Perpetual help, Pray for us. (Flint Grospe)
