SAN MATEO, RizaI–In line with the Solemnity of St. Padre Pio, a new chapel was established at Villa San Mateo 6. Exactly at 10 oclock yesterday morning, the new chapel was filled of devotees as Fr. Edwin started the mass.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Prayer is known to be the most powerful weapon we can use when there are problems, struggles, and trials in life. St. Padre Pio was recognized as a man of prayer and for his famous motto Pray, Hope, and Dont Worry. When you are praying always remember these three words: Ask, Believe and Receive. Ask clearly your intentions. Believe and trust God that He will answer and give your intentions. Lastly, because of faith towards God, your intentions will be answered.

As I enter my Senior High School Life at Polytechnic University of the Philippines, I never thought that there are groups and organization which strengthen the faith of every student. One of these organization is PUPSONS wherein they went room to room just to share their inspiring stories to motivate us despite of difficulties in life.

Last time, a member of the group shared her story. Going back in her 1st year college days, she had a mild dextroscoliosis. This illness was carried in her everyday life but she never lost hope that someday she will be healed by God. It is a routine for her to speak in front of the class to share inspiring stories and to pray with the students. Before she graduated, her prayer was answered and her illness was healed. She believes that it is because of the ever-loving God above. Although God did not respond immediately on her prayer, she was still thankful. It just shows that Gods answer will arrive at right time and right situation.

Reflection: We might be facing lots of difficulties in life but always remember that God is always there for us. Just call him, and He will be there.

As we commemorate the feast day of St. Padre Pio, may he become an inspiration for us to pray not only in hard times but also in good times. St. Padre Pio, pray for us! (Lester de Castro)
