San Mateo Rizal—In line with the feast day of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary on October 7, the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Aranzazu held the annual Living Rosary at the DPNSDA Patio. It was attended by various parish ministries and organizations.
The event started right after the anticipated mass, with an opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Larry Paz. The community reflected on the Mysteries of Joy, where parishioners formed a human rosary and got the chance to recite and lead their part. As they reflected the Joyful Mysteries, videos and songs were played to give deeper meaning to each mystery. The holy rosary ended with the final blessing given by Rev. Fr. Larry Paz and the singing of Salve Regina, as the whole community paid respect to our beloved Our Lady of Aranzazu.
The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary was instituted to honor Mary for the Christian victory over the Turks at Lepanto on October 7, 1571. Pope St. Pius V and all Christians prayed the Rosary for victory. The Rosary, or the Psalter of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is one of the best prayers to Mary, the Mother of God.
Praying the rosary is said to be the most powerful weapon in our in life and in our spiritual warfare. This is also our bridge towards Mary and Christ. (Val Paolo Origenes)
