Few weeks ago, Rev. Fr. Larry Paz, Parish Priest of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu (DSPNSDA), announced that the Parish’s Adoration Chapel will be temporarily closed for renovation. Now, the wait is over for the parishioners who have long anticipated for the newly renovated Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.
Fr. Larry spearheaded the blessing of the new and improved sacred place for adoration yesterday, December 8. It was followed by the ribbon cutting lead by Dr. Madonna Victoria Calderon Domingo, the main sponsor of the restoration and Mr. Frank Faildon, current Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) President.
Several parishioners were present during the blessing including some of the members of the Mother Butler Guild whom the parish priest acknowledged during the mass for their efforts in searching for charitable sponsors who made the renovation possible.
It was later mentioned that the theme linked with the Adoration Chapel is the line, “Daan ka muna,” in which the parishioners are encouraged to regularly pass by to have a momentary talk with the Lord.
The newly restored adoration chapel is complemented with thicker curtains that was said to lessen the external noise from the surroundings, enhanced air conditioning, and the ceiling is creatively painted with the scene from the Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Invitations with attached little envelopes for additional donations were also distributed for the planned sound systems to provide constant music playing inside during moments of prayers or contemplations for a more peaceful and prayerful ambiance.
With the refurbishment of the Adoration Chapel, it is hoped that not only the site itself is rebuilt but also the faith of those who are disheartened and further strengthen the resilient devotion of the parishioners as it is said on the scriptures, “He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings, you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (Psalm 91:4)
