Christmas is the season of giving and sharing. Whether you’ve been good or bad for the whole year, for Christ, we are all equal. After all, he died on the cross because we are all sinful but he did this to save us all, to let us enjoy the life that he gave us.
Last December 24, the Social Service Ministry under the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu (DSPNSDA) spearheaded the annual gift-giving project at the San Mateo Municipal Jail (SMMJ).
In cooperation with Catholic Women’s League and Prisoners Welfare Organization, Social Service Ministry distributed presents to the prisoners of SMMJ. The gifts were said to come from the contributions of different organizations and seniors.
Aside from the gifts received, the inmates were also given with slippers that they can use inside the jail and money for their other needs. In exchange, the inmates performed to welcome and entertain their visitors.
Giving gifts is not limited to our family members. While we are enjoying our blessings this Christmas, let us not forget to share what we have especially to those who needs them.
