SAN MATEO, Rizal – Christmas is the most-awaited day for everyone because it is the day of the coming of the child Jesus, this is also why we make sure that every Children will enjoy this season.

Last December 27, the whole community of Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu’s (DSPNSDA) Parish Pastoral Council in cooperation with the Youth Ministry held its annual “Makibata”, a gift-giving project for the less fortunate children.

Rev. Fr. Lawrence Paz, Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Edwin Tirado, Parochial Vicar both from DSPNSDA, also participated the program. There were two venues for the event wherein the formation center was occupied by those pre-registered children while the Parish Hall was provided for the walk-ins.

The church servers and volunteers while preparing the food for the children.

More than a hundred of children were served with food and given with new shoes, toys, clothes, and more which were donated and offered by the generous devotees and parishioners of Aranzazu Parish during the Simbang Gabi.

Games and performances were also prepared for the children whose smiles and laughter were priceless.

The church keeps on reminding us to nourish and love the children regardless of the season as Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these…” – Matthew 19:13-14.
