CAINTA, Rizal – Our Lady of Light, to be the 38th Canonically Crowned Marian Image.

Our Lady of Light or Ina ng Kaliwanagan of Cainta is the 4th Koronada under the Diocese of Antipolo. Our Lady of Light is the 38th in the list of the Canonically crowned Marian Images in the Philippines. It is remembered that Our Lady of Aranzazu was the 3rd Marian image to be Pontifically crowned under the Diocese of Antipolo last May 31, 2017.

Three other canonically crowned images of the Blessed Mother in the Diocese of Antipolo are the image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, crowned in 1926, and Marikina’s Patroness, Our Lady of the Abandoned, crowned in 2005 and the Patroness of San Mateo, Rizal, Our Lady of Aranzazu, crowned last 2017. It was also a historical celebration when the 3-crowned Marian Images gathered in the Antipolo Cathedral last July 2017 and were coined as “Tres Koronadas.”  According to Fr. Larry Paz, the Shrine Rector and Parish Priest of Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Aranzazu, “We are truly blessed. And it is in the blessing of the Lord to receive the good news about our 4th Koronada in the beginning of the year.”

Cainta historian Michael de los Reyes says that the year 2012 is doubly significant in the history of and devotion to the Madre Santissima del Lume, or Our Lady of Light. The image was granted episcopal coronation last December 1, 2012.
