Following the coronation of Our Lady of Light, the Vatican granted the Pontifical Coronation of The La Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc this year.

The La Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc will be the second marian image to be hailed as a ‘coronada’ this year. The said image is a patroness is under the Suffragan of Nueva Segovia (Created: June 5, 1961. Erected: July 26, 1961.) It comprises the whole province of Ilocos Norte and the City of Laoag. Their Titular Patron is St. William the Hermit while it’s secondary PatronOur Lady, Cause of Our Joy which is the Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc).

The La Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc is an image that dates back 400 years ago. It was believed that fishermen found this image inside a box, floating in the sea along with another image. The Blessed Virgin was then put into the church at Badoc.

People believe that the arrival of La Virgen Milagrosa to the little town of Badoc is a blessing and a gift for the strong faith of the Ilocanos living in the area. Since then, the image has been reported to deliver numerous miracles.

Before the announcements of Canonical Coronations this 2018, the Our Lady of Aranzazu has been crowned as the 36th coronada in the Philippines.
