Aranzazu Shrine’s parish priest, the late Rev. Fr. Lawrence “Larry” Paz passed away on February 10, 2018. Fr. Larry died at the young age of 55, which has greatly shocked everyone especially the people of San Mateo, Rizal. Though he is in the arms of our Lord right now, Fr. Larry Paz will be greatly missed and remembered by everyone he came in contact with.

Here are some top posts on Instagram and Twitter that netizens will miss from Father Larry, taken from the hashtag #RememberingFrLarry.

His homily

Regular Sunday mass-goers got used to Father Larry’s style of delivering the homily after reading the Gospel. People are always looking forward to the amusing and spontaneous way he delivers his sermons.

Funny is one word to put it, meaningful is another; there will never be a dull moment during his masses. It’s listening to the good news without getting bored.

His genuine smile

Everyone in the parish knows that Fr. Larry is one ball of giant sunshine. Just take a look at these photos!

His closeness with parish workers

The Media and Public Information Ministry (MPIM), Tarcisian Adorers, Ministry of Altar Severs (MOAS), and other ministries within Aranzazu Shrine know how well Father Larry works . Padre is a jolly clergyman who is very suggestive and proactive when it comes to ministry matters. To give an example, Arnel Yango, the current head of the media ministry, said during the necrological services:

“Father Larry is not just a talent; he is a production assistant, a creative director.”

Father Larry’s sudden passing still leaves a hole in everyone’s hearts, but one thing is for sure — Father Lawrence “Larry” Paz will forever remain in our hearts and in our minds.
