SAN MATEO, Rizal – More than 40 new members of Ministry of the Altar Servers (MOAS) were installed last March 10, Saturday at Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu (DSPNSDA).

Fr. Lopito “Bembol” Hiteroza, new parish priest of DSPNSDA, installed the new altar servers and presided the mass. During his homily, Fr. Bembol shared that he was also an altar server when he was younger. He also mentioned the importance of commitment when you are serving the church, most especially if you are an altar server.

Students of Escuelas de Sacristan go through more than a 6-month seminar and training wherein they have to learn and pass the three subjects – Church Liturgy, Church Sacraments, and Church Doctrines, before they officially become an altar server.
