Just got married! 15 couples exchanged vows in this year’s Kasalang Bayan at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu last June 16, Saturday.
Family Life Apostolate spearheaded the preparation up to the actual day of the annual Kasalang Bayan sa Parokya while Rev. Fr. Edwin Tirado officiated the wedding ceremony.
The interior of the parish was designed with bouquet of flowers alternately posted beside the pews, hung in them was a long net cloth that complemented the decoration of the aisle.
As the wedding ceremony started, the soon-to-be husbands and wives walked down the aisle together followed by their respective parents, some couples with their child/children.
As everyone was finally settled in their own designated seats, Fr. Edwin started the mass and emphasized the significance of marriage. He also asked the pairs to promise to confess regularly.
Part of the ceremony were the exchanging of vows which was done pair by pair followed by the couples’ wearing of the rings to their partner. Fr. Edwin then blessed the couples as they held hands, traditional arras or wedding coins were also blessed.
After the pronouncement of wedding, the now husbands and wives were invited at the patio for the post-celebration where they had their first dance as married couples. Each pair received a mini two-layered cake and glasses of wine as part of the traditional cutting and eating of the cake.
The newly weds also had their photos taken in the photo booth and the bridal car prepared by the Family Life Apostolate. The Kasalang Bayan was ended with the just married couples releasing red balloons into the air.
