The Parish Pastoral Council of DSPNSDA maximized the potential use of QR codes on their Access Badges for their Attendance System.
SAN MATEO, Rizal – Members of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) in the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu were surprised by the digitized system of attendance in their PPC general assembly in the said parish last Saturday, June 16.
Upon registration, each member received their “Access Badge” card which will now serve as their pass in the future general assemblies and other special events where they will attend. The access badge has a printed name of the card owner and their unique QR Code which contains their personal information such as full name, brithdate, email address and PIN.
The card holder must scan their QR code in the terminal, provided by the PPC Secretary using a Mobile Phone or a Tablet, to confirm their attendance in the meeting. Once the meeting has been adjourned, the card must be scanned again for the card holder to be logged out. This time, the member will see his duration in the meeting.
The new system of attendance was an initiative of the PPC ExeCom and spearheaded by the Media and Public Information Ministry. The digitized system aims to keep track and monitor the attendance of every PPC member.
The members of PPC expressed their amusement in the said innovation. Some also showed their interest and said that they want to apply the same system in their respective ministries and organizations.
Overall, the digitized method of attendance received commendation from majority of the PPC members as this is just the beginning of the parish keeping up with the different technological advancements and maximizing available resources.
