More than a hundred members of Ministry of Altar Servers (MOAS) renewed their vows of service last July 14, Saturday during the 6 PM mass at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu (DSPNSDA).
Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Bembol Hiteroza presided the mass and initiated the rites of the renewal of the sacristans. During the homily, Fr. Bembol reminded them of the commitment they are offering as altar servers.
Every altar server went through more than 6 months of formation so they may be quipped with knowledge and understanding of the different obligations and traditions of the Catholic church through these three subjects – Church Liturgy, Church Sacraments, and Church Doctrines.
Every aspirant was tested in written and practical exams at the end of the formation before they officially become knights of the altar and fulfill their calling to be workers of the church as sacristans.
