With a theme: ”Ang Debosyon kay Maria na Pinagtibay ng Panahon,” the pocket film contest aims to gather all the aspiring amateur film makers and encourage them to create an original 2-3 minute film that will show people’s growing devotion to Mary through their creativity.

The contest is spearheaded by the Parish Media Ministry and here are the reasons why you should submit an entry:

1. SUBMISSION IS EXTENDED until September 3, 2018!

Due to the inclement weather which has badly affected most areas in San Mateo and Rodriguez, Rizal, the Parish Media Ministry have considered moving the deadline of submission to give more time to the participant’s production of short films.

2. Winners will receive trophies, certificates and cash prizes!

Upon receiving all the entries, the preliminary jury will choose the Top 10 (with certificates) and from there, there would be a public online voting that will determine the Top 3 films to be hailed as the top winners for the first ever pocket film contest to be held by the shrine. Aside from trophies and certificates,

  • the Best Film will receive a P5,000;
  • 2nd runner up will get P3,000 and;
  • 3rd runner up will win P2,000

3. There are no limitations on the number of entries nor on the number of participants.

Though participants must only be at least 16 years old, the contest allows both individuals and groups to join. Also, there are no limits on how many materials you want to submit may it be 5 or 10 short films, up to you. If you wish to join as a group, there are no restrictions on how members you may want to be with in the production team.

4. The final jury consists of well-known people in the industry.

We only see or hear them through the internet, radio or television but imagine these big people in the industry watching your film, this is not a concept! The final jury are the following:

Ms. Antonette Jadaone – One of the best directors and screenwriters in the film industry whose famous works include That Thing Called Tadhana, Love You to the Stars and Back and the popular TV series On the Wings of Love and Since I Found You  among others!

Mr. Nash Aguas – We’ve been following him on screen since Goin’ Bulilit but his exceptional talent makes him more recognizable in the industry. His latest project was The Good Son where he was commended for his role as Justin.

Fr. Ric Eguia – Fr. Ric is the Vicar Forane of the Vicariate of Our Lady of Aranzazu, Parish Priest of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary in Rodriguez, Rizal who also has the eyes for creative works related to religion and devotion to catholic faith.
