SAN MATEO, Rizal – Following the Pontifical Coronation of Our Lady of Aranzazu on May 31 last year, Aranzazu Shrine brings another history to the town of San Mateo after the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) approved its request for a National Historical Marker. This means that the parish is now recognized as a national treasure of the Philippines.
The Parish Pastoral Council of Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu made sure that everything is set for the unveiling of the National Historical Marker of the parish on Friday, August 31.
A short procession of Our Lady of Aranzazu accompanied by different parish organizations and ministry members will be held before the unveiling ceremony of the Historical Marker. The unveiling ceremony will then be followed by a holy mass inside the shrine.
Around 200 visitors are expected to witness the historical event including Rizal Gov. Rebecca Ynares, San Mateo Mayor Tina Diaz, and Vice Mayor Paeng Diaz. NCHP President Rene Escalante will also be gracing the event. Clergies, parish workers and parishioners are also anticipated.
Songs and dance of praises to Our Lady of Aranzazu will be seen during the day. Varieties of food will also be served for everyone.
