Another blessed and productive year for the town of San Mateo, as the past eight months were full of exciting activities and engagements. For the following days ahead, the most awaited celebration of the people of San Mateo which is the feast of Our Lady of Aranzazu or Kakanin Festival are coming on their way as we welcome the month of September.
There will be various activities after the Novena masses that will contain series of contests and activities praising Our Lady of Aranzazu few days before the actual feast day on September 9, in which the public is expected to join and participate. The following events will be held starting from August 31 to September 8, 2018. The parish is open for all the devotees and participants who will come to profess their faith in different ways.
Student artists gathered at the poster-making contest held on Friday night, August 31 at the DSPNSDA Parish Hall. A total of 29 participants creatively interpreted the theme of the contest, “Maria, Huwaran ng Paglilingkod at Patnubay sa Makabagong Ebanghelisasyon.”
On the following day, a festive night of celebration brought by the Aranzazu Youth is the Youth Jam 2018, 7 PM at NSDAPS gymnasium. Youths from all over the town are welcome to join the event.
On September 2 (Sunday) at 8 am, a medical mission will be conducted at the DSPNSDA to be spearheaded by the Social Services Ministry,
At the night of the same day, Aranzazu Chorale Concert by the Pairsh Music Ministry will be held at 8:30 pm at the same venue too. Everyone is invited to come and hear the heavenly voices of the evening.
4th on the list of the events, is another night of concert, the CFC-SFL and CFC-YFL Chapter 6: Praise and Worship Concert sponsored by the Parish Pastoral Council will begin at 7:30 pm at the DSPNSDA on September 3 (Monday).

Aranzazu Grand Zumba in the evening will be held at 7:30 pm at the DSPNSDA Patio on September 4 (Tuesday). This is for everyone who wants to exercise their well-being to be physically, mentally and even spiritually healthy and conditioned.
3 days before the main event, prepared and will be presented by Tanghalang Aranzazu in collaboration with the Parish Pastoral Council is a theatrical play entitled “Faith?! Isang Diskurso” directed by Jocelyn Rebalbos. This is for the 12th season play that will be held on September 5 (Wednesday) 7:30 pm at DSPNSDA Parish Hall.
Another night dedicated to our faith through music is the Aranzazu Acoustic Night organized the Parish Pastoral Council. It will be on September 6 (Thursday), 7:30 pm at the DSPNSDA Parish Hall.
As a tribute to Mary on the night before her special day, an event called Asalto Kay Maria will take place on September 7 (Friday). This will also be presented by the Parish Pastoral Council at DSPNSDA Parish Hall, 7:30 in the evening.
September 8 (Saturday) is the day when our Savior’s mother Mary was born. The NSDA Grand Alumni Homecoming will be celebrated. The celebration will start at 7:30 pm at the NSDAPS gymnasium.
The feast of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu will never go dull as the townspeople always put their time and effort to make this day special. May our Patroness bless and give us prosperity and peace.

Maria Angela Patrice M. Mabutol is a senior high school student at Eastern Star Academy and is currently taking HUMSS Strand under Academic Track. She was a former member and writer of Aranzes Journal at NSDAPS. Aside from being passionate in writing, she is also into photography and music. Angela is a firm believer that life is just a matter of perspective that if you change your view, the rest will follow.
