The week-long celebration of the feast of San Mateo’s patroness, Our Lady of Aranzazu has officially started with the poster-making contest held at the parish hall of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu (DSPNSDA) last Friday night, August 31.
Mr. Dani Villanueva, Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) President, and Mrs. Rachel Buerano, Christian Living Education (CLE) Coordinator of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu Parochial School (NSDAPS), facilitated the contest with a theme “Maria, Huwaran ng Paglilingkod at Patnubay sa Makabagong Ebanghelisasyon.” The competition was divided into two categories, one for the grades 7 and 8 and the other is for the grades 9 and 10.
A total of 29 participants are competing for the first prize, each has their own perspective and interpretation of the theme, in which they were able to express creatively.
The participants used ¼ illustration board as the canvas for their artwork. Using different art materials such as watercolor, oil pastel, colored pencils, crayons, poster paint and colored pens; the artists colored the night with their masterpiece.
The awarding of winners will be announced on the 7th of September, Friday. (Maria Angela Patrice M. Mabutol)

Maria Angela Patrice M. Mabutol is a senior high school student at Eastern Star Academy and is currently taking HUMSS Strand under Academic Track. She was a former member and writer of Aranzes Journal at NSDAPS. Aside from being passionate in writing, she is also into photography and music. Angela is a firm believer that life is just a matter of perspective that if you change your view, the rest will follow. Being a part of Media and Public Information Ministry is honestly a dream come true for her, as she will be able to express her faith not just from being an active member of the church in common ways, but through her talent and skills that she thinks people deserve to be shared with.
