I can still remember how Tanghalang Aranzazu made me feel happy, sad, surprised and kilig all at the same time while watching their previous play on December last year and got LSS-ed with their originally-composed songs.
This time, TA digged deeper on the definition of Faith in their recent play entitled Faith?!: Isang Diskurso, which was shown at the Parish Hall last Wednesday, September 5. The said play is a spin-off of Aranzazu: 300 Taon ng Debosyon at Kasaysayan but with additional components touching the social issues in the country.
The story showed how miraculous our Lady of Aranzazu is by conveying the stories of different devotees like a woman who suffered and miraculously survived from aneurysm, a woman who lost her child and many other stories of devotion that are beyond belief.
But the act that moved me the most is the scene of a Kapampangan who was accused of drug dealing and killed as he cries for mercy and justice.
It was amusing how the TA was able to carefully put all the details together, producing a play that can touch the hearts of people from all walks of life.
This brilliant idea came from the creative mind of the writer, Bro. Jerson Rey Guiwa, brought to life by the direction of Sis. Jocelyn Rebalbos with the help of the whole TA production team.
Don’t miss out their next shows on September 22 and 23 and all other weekends of September and October. Visit Tanghalang Aranzazu’s Facebook page to keep posted on their next shows. (Elaine Sargento)
