DSPNSDA held the annual March of Saints as a way of celebrating the All Saints’ Day. Parish youth joyfully participated the said activity portraying their favorite saints. Before the procession, Fr. Edwin Tirado presided the mass at 6 in the morning. The program started with opening remarks from the Parish Pastoral Council President, Bro. Dani Villanueva, sending his full gratitude to all the participants together with their parents and guardians who accompanied them, for exerting efforts through creative costumes, make-ups and props in order to be the best looking saints who they chose to portray.
Most of the participants dressed as St. Augustine, St. Claire of Assisi, St. Padre Pio, St. Peter, St. Joseph, St. Michael the Archangel, St. and Theresa of Calcutta.
Some also personified St. Matthew, St. Agatha, St. Cecilia, St. John Diego, St. Scholastica, St. Dominic Savio, St. Bernadeth, and many more.
Winners were picked and awarded as “DSPNSDA Saint of the Day” in two categories. For the juniors, St. Andrew Kim Taegon, St. Cecilia and St. Michael the Archangel were awarded. While St. John Diego, St. Theresa of Calcutta and St. Matthew won among the teenagers. A blessing from Rev. Fr. Bembol Hiteroza was given to the participants of the 3rd March of Saints.
The saints captured our hearts in different ways, through their different stories that inspires us to also be a good Christian by doing good deeds to our neighbors, and by being a faithful child of God despite of the hardships that we encounter in life. May they continue to serve as an inspiration to each and everyone of us, even in the simplest ways that we can live. (Maria Angela Patrice M. Mabutol)
