The first day of December has been very special for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo especially for Our Lady of Light after being granted the Canonical Coronation, making it the 4th Canonically Crowned Marian image in the said diocese.

A procession was held in the evening as a thanksgiving for its Canonical Coronation. The formerly knowned “Tres Coronadas” or the first three Canonically Crowned Marian images in the Diocese of Antipolo processioned with the newly crowned, Our Lady of Light from Cainta. Images of Patrons of different Barangays in Cainta also accompanied the procession.

Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage of Antipolo, also called Nuestra Señora de la Paz Y Buenviaje,was the first Coronada in the diocese. She was Canonically Crowned on November 28, 1926. From the City of Marikina, Our Lady of the Abandoned, also known as Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados received its Canonical Coronation on October 23, 2005.

It is remembered that San Mateo’s patroness, Our Lady of Aranzazu was the third Canonically crowned Marian image of the Antipolo Diocese which became official on May 31, 2017.

Our Lady of Light Parish received the Bull of the Coronation on December 6, 2017 from the Prefect of the Congregation of the Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments of Vatican, City. Our Lady of Light was canonically crowned last December 1, on the day of its Feast Day and 6th anniversary of its Episcopal Coronation.
