The wonderful and fruitful Year of the Clergy is coming to an end, and the Year of the Youth was launched last December 2, 2018 at the Assumption School of Antipolo.

Different vicariates and School Organizations from the Diocese of Antipolo attended this memorable event. A pre-program was conducted wherein different bands and singers performed different music hits on the stage. There were also various booths and merchandise to enjoy during the pre-program.

A solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist happened in the middle of the event. It was led by the Bishop of Antipolo, Most Rev. Francisco M. De Leon D.D. and he was assisted by Fr. Joey Valdez. People were given a chance to touch our Lady’s mantle at the beginning of the mass.

The main program began after the Holy Mass through dance prayers, honoring the Lord. Over 200 performers coming from nine vicariates performed on stage before the actual launching of the year. Then, Bro. Monching Bueno gave a talk about the Youth having a Mission during the Year of the Youth, but given the mission, we are taken aback in doing that mission because of fear. Then the actual announcement of the beginning of the Year of the Youth took place. Followed by a Praise and Worship that all of the attendees enjoyed.

Before the day officially ended, the theme song for the Year of the Youth, “One in Mission” was harmoniously sang and performed by the crowd. It was indeed a spectacular day of celebration. To all of the youth out there especially those who are serving the Church, “Taon natin ‘to!” (Jazlene Jimenez)
