Music can be a way to make us feel happy or sad.
One of the musical genres to do so is seasonal music or holiday music — this is where Christmas songs come in.
Music has a strong bond with nostalgia, making us feel something or remember what we did in the past. This is why listening to a Christmas song can make us feel warm, relaxed, and childish at times. There are plenty of Christmas songs out there that can make you feel like you’re a child again, and there are some songs that can make you feel remorseful about a memory you did back then.

This is a line from the famous Fiilipino song, Ang Pasko ay Sumapit originally written by the Cebuano, Mariano Vestil. Just by hearing this song, you can remember all the things you did during your early days. A good example would be creating a musical instrument out of metal bottle caps and going out to the neighborhood to go carolling.
Lastly when you hear the song “Hear Comes Santa Claus” you’ll remember the times you stayed up all-night waiting for Santa Claus, hoping that he’ll give you gifts if you did enough good deeds this year.
Being able to hear these Christmas songs can be a wonderful feeling for you and your family, not because it’s a happy song but because it reminds us all the past Christmas days and makes us want to be a child again.
