Christmas is one of the festivities that every Christians celebrate each year. This is the time when we commemorate the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, our God, Messiah, Prophet and King. Everyone is excited when the month of December comes in. Lots of blessings are bestowed to us as we receive gifts, money and incentives this time. Most of us will be happy if we’re going to have a Christmas like that. But Christmas ins’t only about having those material things. There’s far more deeper meaning that this celebration wants to tell us.

A Season of Giving

“It’s better to give than to receive!” “You must be a cheerful giver!” These notable quotes implies that in this season, sharing our blessings to the needy should be one of our top priorities. We should extend our hands and reach out to other people not only in giving them what can supplicate their material needs but also their emotional needs. Always keep in mind that a man who shares his blessings wholeheartedly can give a genuine happiness to other people.

A Joyous Family

Just like Mary, Joseph and Jesus, we can experience the joyful feeling if we are with our family this season. We don’t need variety of foods on our table, expensive clothes and shoes just to be happy this Christmas. All we have to do is to share the spirit of joy with our family and encourage them to let that spirit reside in their hearts. To the kids, always be grateful for the gifts given to you, your parents, ninongs and ninangs did not only spend money for it, they also spent their time making sure they are beautifully wrapped for you.

God as the Center of Everything

The birth of Christ is just a reminder for us to let God’s plan happen in our lives. Mary and Joseph didn’t complain when they have to stay in a stable to give birth to our Lord Jesus Christ. So, as the followers of God, if we make him an inspiration, we can do more in our lives. Christmas is not all about the new things that we have or the gifts that we received. This festivity reminds us that the simple things that we do could be the best way to live the spirit of this wonderful season.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
