The Avant-Garde Singers will serenade us once again for their upcoming year-end concert entitled Virtuoso: Seasons of Harmony together with choirmaster Architect Martin Luther Nardo on December 29, 7:30 p.m., at the Church of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu.
The concert is intended to showcase the performance of the Avant-Garde Singers’ active members composed of some senior members, junior members and even the trainees that clearly exhibits the seamless fusion of their musical virtuosity.
Their vastly eclectic repertoire will feature different genres of music — from sacred music, avant-garde, Filipino and international folk songs, Filipino Christmas songs, and other strenuous choral masterpieces.
The Avant-Garde Singers or simply “AGS” was established in the year 2004 by Mr. Andlen Go and began as a class project at the Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu Parochial School. Eventually, AGS became a church choir serving at the 12 noon Sunday masses in our Parish church.

To date, the Avant-Garde Singers have been a part of numerous concerts and competitions. They participated at the 2010 Madz et Al Jazz concert, The Bukas Palad Online Ministry Concert, ‘Sangtinig 2010 Praises of Christmas, and performed as a guest choir in Key Strings recital concert in Manila. AGS also joined the Himig ng Kabataan Alay kay Don Bosco Choral Competition held in Makati where they received the People’s Choice Award in 2016.
The Avant-Garde Singers also became a semi-finalist of the country’s most prestigious Manila Broadcasting Company’s (MBC) National Choral Competition last 2017 at the Aliw Theater in Pasay, City.
Tickets for the show Virtuoso: Seasons of Harmony will be available until the actual day of the concert for only ₱100. There will be special discount for students for only ₱70 and Music Ministry members for as low as ₱50. Some of the proceeds will be use for the group’s outreach program.
