Do you believe that super heroes really exist in real life? How about a knight in shining armor who’s always ready to save you from all the villain in this world? Some may think that these characters are just a product of fiction. But seriously? Haven’t we realized that there is a person who possesses the same characteristics with them? He does not have special powers, either a costume of an armor, but he’s always there to protect us and guide us in our life. Can you guess who are they? Our Fathers!
Our Father is one of the reasons why we are here in this world. In Filipino, they are often labeled as “haligi ng tahanan”, because they are expected to be the strong foundation of each household. In common situations, the fathers in the Filipino families are the one who provides for the financial needs. Most of the time, they sacrifice their blood and effort just to give money for the tuition of their children, for the foods that will be served on their tables, and many more. They are the ones who give protection to their wife and children.
They have a very important role in our life. That is why we must equate the love that they are giving to us. This Father’s day, why not give them a hug and say “I love you, Papa. Thanks for everything”? But it is not only about giving material gifts and greetings on our social media accounts. The greatest gift that our Fathers must receive is our respect and obedience. Not only for this day, but for our entire life.
