Rev. Fr. Alex Rubio on second day of Novena Mass at DSPNSDA.
SAN MATEO, Rizal – With the theme: Maria, Bilang Ina ng mga Bokasyon, the 2nd Novena Mass was presided by Rev. Fr. Alex Rubio. Along with the mass was an interview with Sem. Jeremy Joseph about his insights regarding the theme.
In the gospel of Luke, Jesus invites all to be humble and sincerely generous. In his homily, Fr. Rubio highlighted: “Humility and Service”. Humility, the sign and a fruit of a wonderful spiritual richness. Knowing that pride is the ultimate root of all sins ad vices, humility on the other hand is the mother of all virtues. Humble people rejoice in the good qualities or successes of their neighbour because they see no place, no occupation, as too low for them, while considering all others are worthier. Jesus Christ is the champion of all the humble. Humility is a person, situation, and circumstances in the absences of complaining.
“Service” on the other hand addresses the need of the other who is in need without expecting for something in return from the Lord. Expressing humility and understanding leads brothers and sisters to a better understanding between each other.
Mary as the mother of vocation, calls each of us for the vocation of Priesthood, single blessedness or to have a family. Being able to express humility and service makes us better in our vocation that brings us closer to God
