With the theme “Maria, Bilang Huwaran ng Paglilingkod,” Rev. Fr. Lopito Hiteroza presided the last novena mass where he focused on Mary’s obedience to the big role and responsibility that God has given her.
Mary’s acceptance to behold the Holy Spirit gave sense to the birth of Jesus Christ and the history of salvation. God used Mary as an instrument of Jesus’ existence to this world. Her obedience should be observed as an example to every Christian because obedience to beliefs and doctrines of the Church are good foundations of having a strong faith and reverence.
Fr. Hiteroza wanted the people to realize these 5 things:
1. We should not allow anything to hinder us from serving God. We must do it willingly by no means of force from internal and external influences.
2. We must give ourselves wholeheartedly without expecting anything in return.
3. We must accept that if we choose to follow God, a lot of challenges will be on our way, and we must give our all strength and courage to conquer it.
4. We should all be single minded in serving God. We must set this as our top priority and no other things can hinder us from doing it no matter how crucial it is.
5. We should always be faithful in everything that we do for the Lord. These are the things that he wants us to realize because obedience plays an important role in our lives as Christians. Because of this, we must always follow the doctrines and the commandments to be a good follower of Christ.
