In Siniloan, the town which lies between the mountains of Sierra Madre and Laguna de Bay, vigorously share and express a special devotion to Our Lady of Aranzazu.

The devotion started through the initiative and effort of the couple; Jojo and Zarah Relativo, wherein they commissioned a replica image of the Virgin of Aranzazu to join the annual Marian Procession in Siniloan.

Their devotion started when they first saw the official replica of Our Lady of Aranzazu during her pilgrim visit for the Siniloan Marian Procession in 2018. The devotion rapidly spread throughout their community where they formed a group of Our Lady’s devotees.

The Shrine-Parish of Our Lady of Aranzazu and the Parish of Sts. Peter and Paul recognizes their devotion through their affiliation to the Knights of Our Lady of Aranzazu – Siniloan.

At the present time, the group consistently propagate the devotion (not only in Siniloan but also in nearby towns) by initiating various regular activities for the Virgin of Aranzazu that is patterned to the devotional activities in San Mateo.

1.) Pamimintuho sa Birhen ng Aranzazu

Similar to our Pamimintuho sa Birhen ng Aranzazu, which is held every 9th day and 2nd Saturday of the month. The devotees of Siniloan organize Holy Mass and a short procession around the church patio.

2.) Lakbay Aranzazu

Siniloan’s version of Lakbay Aranzazu is the weekly visit of Our Lady’s image to different families or houses in Siniloan.

3.) Feast day

The community celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Aranzazu every September 8. Holy mass and Procession is held in their parish church. Thereafter, devotees of Siniloan make pilgrimage to the shrine of Aranzazu in San Mateo on the actual feast day of September 9th

4.) Siniloan Marian Procession

The replica image joins the Siniloan Marian procession every 3rd Sunday of August. The carozza is accompanied with dancers and marching band, performing the Pamimintuho sa Birhen.

Siniloan’s active devotion to the Virgin of San Mateo is a strong evidence of our unity and love for our heavenly patroness. Indeed, San Mateo is blessed because Our Lady of Aranzazu has chosen our town to be her seat and sanctuary. May the people of Siniloan and all Aranzazu devotees receive favour from God through the powerful intercession of Our Lady of Aranzazu.
