THE CORONATION: SYMBOL OF UNPARALLELED DEVOTION<\/b><\/h2>\n

On June 18, 2013<\/strong>, the Bishop of Antipolo, Most Rev. Gabriel V. Reyes, D.D., granted the petition for an Episcopal Coronation<\/strong> made by the parish priest, Fr. Lawrence C. Paz, in behalf of the parishioners and devotees of Our Lady. And history unfolds at that moment.<\/p>\n

While after 3 (three) years of tireless praying, Fr Larry and the Parish Pastoral Council personally met Antipolo Bishop Emeritus Gabriel Reyes DD at his residence to received the official documents sent by Rome granting the Canonical Coronation<\/strong> of the image of the Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu<\/a>. Copies were given\u00a0of the endorsement of the Bishop of Antipolo addressed to Robert Cardinal Sarah<\/em>, the Prefect of the Congregation of the Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments; a copy of the endorsement and acknowledgment letters of Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto<\/em>, the Apostolic Nuncio; and the copy of the decree written in Latin stating the Holy Father\u2019s grant of the canonical coronation of the Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu. The decree was dated June 17, 2016<\/strong> and signed by the Prefect and Secretary.<\/p>\n

The essence of the coronation is not only the image being crowned but an acknowledgment of the deep and fervent devotion of the people of San Mateo to the Blessed Mother under the title of \u201cNuestra Senora de Aranzazu\u201d which has brought about countless stories of favors granted and even safety from flash floods.<\/p>\n

For the record, DSPNSDA in San Mateo is the lone parish under the titular \u201cNuestra Senora de Aranzazu\u201d in the whole Philippines and is set to have a year-long celebration of its 300 years.\u00a0The Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of Aranzazu Mass was set on May 31, 2017.<\/p>\n
