The Virgin of\u00a0Aranzazu\u00a0is not only recognized for her miraculous intercession of healing. She is also the Protectress against the calamities\u00a0(Protectora\u00a0contra las\u00a0clamidades).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Various testimonies\u00a0of\u00a0miraculous intercession during natural calamities (mostly about floods) were submitted as an act of gratitude. The\u00a0Abella\u00a0family of Barangay\u00a0Guitnang\u00a0Bayan\u00a01 luckily experienced and\u00a0witnessed\u00a0an extraordinary\u00a0miraculous\u00a0appearance\u00a0of the Mother and Queen of San Mateo:<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” background_position=”top_left” background_repeat=”repeat” background_size=”initial” _builder_version=”3.9″]\n

Here’s the full text of their testimony:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The image of\u00a0Nuestra\u00a0Senora de\u00a0Aranzazu\u00a0appeared around half-past 1-midnight\u00a0right after the flood subsided during the\u00a0Ondoy\u00a0typhoon last September 26, 2009. I was\u00a0in front\u00a0of our house in MH Del Pillar St.\u00a0Guitnang\u00a0Bayan\u00a0I,\u00a0I was\u00a0checking on my car, when it was all dark because there was no electricity at that time; I was facing the public market of San Mateo, Rizal, and the direction towards\u00a0Dulong\u00a0Bayan. I saw with my own naked eyes, a huge image of \u2018Nuestra\u2019 amidst the total darkness. It was very bright and shining. Its size was very huge. The image was Nuestra in standing\u00a0position. Its crown was very clear; the detail of its cape\/ clothing was very bright. It was bronze in color. As I was staring at it, I recognize it was \u2018Nuestra\u2019. I\u00a0immediately\u00a0called my wife,\u00a0Lalanie\u00a0Abella, my brother\u00a0Govanni\u00a0Abella\u00a0and my cousin, Reina\u00a0Layug. We all\u00a0witnessed\u00a0the miraculous\u00a0appearance\u00a0of Nuestra\u2019s image, same as the one in logo of this paper. The image lasted\u00a0approximately\u00a08 minutes. Even as some vehicles passed by, the image didn\u2019t fade away. It was after 8 minutes\u00a0when\u00a0it slowly fades away, all we saw where black night sky, it was all dark. The image slowly disappeared.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This phenomenon is a vivid manifestation of her maternal love and concern for her people and her beloved town that embraces her for almost three centuries. The Virgin appeared to convey her message; to always pray and to remain faithful to God, despite of the\u00a0destruction of natural calamities. She wants to remind her children that she will always serve as the beacon of hope, the star of the sea and the morning, the protectress against the calamities of nature, body and soul.<\/p>\n
