Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines<\/a> (CBCP) that\u00a0reiterates the call of the Church to stop the killings.<\/p>\nThe letter reads, \u201cIn the name of God, stop the Killings! May the justice of God come upon those responsible for the killings! For the good of the country, stop the killings! The toll of \u201cmurders under investigation\u201d must stop now.\u201d Along with these calls, the bishops invite all the faithful to light a candle, offer prayers, pray the rosary and receive Holy Communion as an offering to the souls of the victims from September 23 to November 1, and to support the orphaned children or families of these victims. CBCP also calls to include those who have been killed in the on-going war in Marawi City.<\/p>\n
According to the letter, it is also high time to restore the ancient pious tradition of\u00a0De Profundis<\/em>\u00a0or the tolling of church bells at 8:00 pm in a forty-day period (September 23 \u2013 November 1, 2017).<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/aranzazushrine.ph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/news_ringbells.jpg?resize=687%2C950\")
Thus, in his letter issued on September 13, 2017, Bishop Francis instructed all the parish priests in Antipolo to toll or ring the church bells accordingly.<\/p>\n
