SAN MATEO, Rizal – With the spirited community of DSPNSDA Prexies, 14 grace-filled men and women were warmly received into the PREX family in graduation rites held during the 6:00 pm Mass last sunday, November 10\u00a0at the parish. \u00a0As always, the weekend brought together a team of devoted and energized Prexies who collaborated with the core group and sponsoring class and generously shared their time in various capacities \u2013 as sharers, emcees, facilitators, prayer warriors, recruiters, PPC, food and beverage aides, choir members, morale boosters and supporters. The speakers skillfully delivered edifying and inspirational talks that captivated their thoroughly engrossed listeners. <\/span><\/p>\n It is another significant seminar with deep and long lasting impact in their Christian life that held on two (2) days. Parish Renewal Experience (PREX)\u00a0is a conversion experience, a rediscovery of our faith. It is about the parishes renewing themselves. The previous weekend seminar is focused on the response to the search for direction and approaches for strengthening and deepening the life of the parish. \u00a0DSPNSDA had been conducting this renewal program for the past years. \u00a0The fruit of this is that a good number of parishioners are getting more involved in various parish ministries and organizations each year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Originally, PREX was known as PRE and it first started at the Diocese of Trenton, New Jersey in the early \u201970s. It was conceived by Father Charles Gallagher, S.J. and a group of priests and lay people as a reflection of Pope Pius VI encyclical entitled \u201cEvangelium Nuntiandi\u201d<\/i> which in local parlance is translated as \u201cMagpahayag ng Mabuting Balita.\u201d<\/i> PREX starts with the family and is oriented to the Parish. Thus the PREX member-couples usually address each other as \u201cKuya and Ate.\u201d Undoubtedly, it has helped greatly in the renewal of the local church, in imparting Catholic teaching, in promoting love of God\u2019s Word and love of prayer, and in instilling the zeal to evangelize. Through the years, since its conception the PREX in the Parishes have really become instruments of conversions for many people as they have served as venues for life changing encounters with the Lord.
