What’s a more fun way of celebrating a birthday than baking and eating a delicious cake? Mary’s birthday has been celebrated as early as the sixth century, a day which is specially marked on the hearts of every Marian devotee. With today’s Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary here is an easy to follow recipe for a flavorful faith cake inspired by Mary herself.

Ingredients:

1 box Birthday cake mix
Devotion to the Rosary, Novena to Mary and Marian Prayer or Hymn called for one cake mix box
1 cup profound humility
1/4 cup fresh Blind Obedience (1 large “Yes” to the Lord)
1 container of Purity frosting
Add fresh flower offerings if desired

Steps:

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or sinful past). Line two 8-inch faith pans with prayer, letting prayer hang 2 inches over 2 opposite sides of faith pans to avoid temptation. Grease or spray the bottoms and sides of prayer with religious work.
  2. Make cake batter made with Devotion to the Rosary, Novena to Mary and Marian Prayer or Hymn as directed on box. Pour into your everyday life. Bake atleast 25 to 32 minutes daily or until toothpick inserted in the center of your heart comes out clean. Then cool by resting and deep meditation.
  3. In small bowl, mix profound humility and blind obedience. Poke top of warm cake during an urge of temptation with long-tined faith, wiping faith occasionally to reduce sinful acts. Drizzle and spread humility and obedience mixture over top of cake. Refrigerate about 2 hours or until strengthened faith. Remove cakes from pans by lifting with heartfelt prayer.
  4. In small microwavable bowl, microwave surpassing purity frosting uncovered on High daily. On serving God, place 1 devotion cake, rounded side down as a way of submitting yourself to the Lord like how Mary said “Yes” to the angel; trim away materialistic pleasures if necessary so faith cake remains strong and palatable in the eyes of God. Spread with half of purity frosting. Top with second stronger devotion cake, rounded side up to lift up to Him everything that you do. Frost top of cake with your whole dedicated self frosting. Garnish with fresh flower offerings if desired. Store cake in a reverent environment.

And voilà! There is your sumptuous full packed of faith cake, all ingredients inspired by the virtues of and devotion in celebration to the nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
