(UPDATED) Diocese of Antipolo Social Communications Ministry (SoComm) Spiritual Director and St. John the Baptist Parochial Vicar, Rev. Fr. Nomer de Lumen died at 32 last Wednesday, September 9.
His friend and colleague, Rev. Fr. Jose Miguel Tan wrote in a Facebook post today:
“Pards, Maraming salamat sa pagiging maaasahang kaibigan, kapatid at kaputol. Nawa ay makapahinga ka na sa bisig ni Mama Mary at ni Hesus. Salamat sa lahat, sa inspirasyon, sa aral. Sa lungkot at ligaya. Requiescat in Pace.”
Clergies and laities from different parishes mourn for the loss of the late priest as they express their love and appreciation to Fr. Nomer on social media. They also sent their condolences to the family of Fr. Nomer.
Reminiscing the beautiful memories
In an interview with MPIM, Fr. Miguel recalls some of his most cherished memories with Fr. Nomer.
“Lahat ng moments na magkasama kami. ‘Nung umiyak siya after ordination, ‘nung magkakasama kami ng isang buwan with Bishop… sa mga hapag na aming napagsaluhan [at] sa mga payo niya like having a deep devotion to Mary [ay hindi ko malilimutan].”
As of the moment, the Diocese of Antipolo has yet to issue a statement regarding the cause of death of the late priest.
Rev. Fr. Alejandro Pestaño, Chancellor of the Diocese of Antipolo announced through Antipolensis Facebook Page that the wake of Fr. Nomer will be at St. Jude Parish, Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal starting on September 11, 5PM. Fr. Nomer will be laid to rest at Himlayang Katoliko in Antipolo City on September 15.
Fr. Nomer was assigned as the Parochial Vicar of St. John the Baptist in Taytay, Rizal on December 1, 2019. He was also commissioned as the Spiritual Director of Diocese of Antipolo Social Communications Ministry last May 21. He’s one of the newly ordained priests in the Diocese.
