Christmas 2022

Rev. Fr. Alexis “Chit” Milagrosa Miday, the Parochial Vicar of Shrine of Aranzazu, celebrated his first Sacerdotal Anniversary last Tuesday, January 31, at the Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de Aranzazu.

During the sermon, Rev. Fr. Orllie Santos, one of Fr. Alex’s friend from seminary, shared that until today, Fr. Alex still remembers the name of the first child he baptized. He said that Fr. Alex had married over 40 couples, a thousand confessions, and over 840 masses.

“Ihuli ang sarili at uunahin ang iba.” Fr. Orllie also shared that in the first year of being a priest, Fr. Alex should remember to put himself last. He remind him to put his duty to God and people first. Whereas Jesus is the first, present, and last. He said people would forget you, but Jesus stayed and will stay.

During Fr. Alex’s appreciation speech, he thanked the people who believed and worshiped God. He said that everything he is, is because of God’s plan and the people around him. “Everything will not be possible without you,” he said as he thanked everyone who supported him.

Fr. Alex was known by the people for his light personality, excellent voice, and humorous but fruitful homily during his masses.

The celebration started with the blessing followed by the actual mass accompanied by other priests who are significant to Fr. Alex’s priesthood. His family and friends also attended the mass.

Fr. Alex was ordained on January 31, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (OLPGV). (Krizha Bernisto)
